On Thursday 2nd March, our 6th class pupils visited Ards Friary to attend a one-day Retreat in
preparation for their upcoming celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation. The children
were greeted by the facilitators for the day and given an outline of what the busy day
would entail.
The pupils got to explore living out the true meaning of Confirmation in their future lives and
how the Holy Spirit can help them when they face issues or challenges. They explored how
Confirmation strengthens their relationship with God and helps them understand more about
God and how He wants us to live.
The pupils played games, had discussions and did drama based on all of this. The day finished with some prayer and visualisation exercises.
