Our annual Sports Day took place in June. We are once again most grateful to Lorcan and the Roarty family for allowing us to use their grounds and wonderful facilities at the Wild Atlantic Camp for the day. We are very lucky to be able to benefit from this great space to accommodate our growing school community for Sports Day.
This year we had an Olympic theme to coincide with this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris. We were delighted to have athletics coach Sharon Bradley with us to coach the pupils on some of the technical throwing and jumping events. Sharon tapped into the buzz and interest around Irish athletics currently from the recent excellent performances by Irish athletes at the European Championships in Rome.
Thankfully, the weather held up well for the day and a most enjoyable day was had. A special word of thanks to Mark and Mrs. Murphy who planned the day’s activities and set up everything early that morning for our pupils and classes.
