Scoil Mhuire Creeslough pupils have a memorable day at Croke Park

Sixth class pupils at Scoil Mhuire had a day to remember when they visited Dublin and were guests at Croke Park.

Sixth class pupils at Scoil Mhuire were guests of GAA President Larry McCarthy at Croke Park and they were treated to a fabulous tour and meal by the staff at GAA headquarters.

School principal John O’Doherty, sixth class teacher Claire Gallagher, teacher Holly McCarry, SNA Mark Crossan and St Michael’s chairman Liam Mc Elhinney accompanied the class.

There was a further surprise for the pupils as with the help of former Minister, Pat the Cope Gallagher, they were also treated to a tour of the Dáil where they were greeted by the Sinn Féin trio of Pearse Doherty, Padraig McLaughlin and young, local man, Brandon McColgan, and by Fine Gael TD Joe McHugh.

For these lucky pupils, their second last day at Scoil Mhuire will always be a great memory for them.

We would also like to acknowledge Martin Mc Gettigan from the Bonnington Hotel who very kindly laid on a meal for the entire group before they made their way back to the north-west to finish off a day to remember. A word of thanks also to our bus driver Conor Carroll.
